Dr Smith was born at Seton Hospital right here in Austin Texas.
Dr Smith attended Justin F Kimball High School in Dallas Texas, where he became a member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. Dr Smith played varsity football, baseball, and track. He lettered in both football and track, and was voted to the All Greater Dallas High School football team.
Dr Smith did his undergraduate work at Texas Tech University in Lubbock Texas.
Dr Smith entered the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1962. He was awarded three degrees including the Doctor of Optometry degree in 1968. Dr Smith was a member of the student optometric association, and was awarded membership in Beta Sigma Kappa for scholastic achievement.
Dr Smith was licensed to practice Optometry by the state of Texas in 1967.
He has also passed all three parts of the National Boards of Optometry in 1968.
After receiving his doctorate degree, Dr Smith served on the faculty at the University of Houston College of Optometry Optometry as Clinical instructor, teaching contact lens fitting and visual fields. He also taught students in the patient clinic.
Additional degrees include Therapeutic Degree from Northeastern State College of Optometry in Oklahoma. Dr Smith earned his Optometric Glaucoma Specialist degree and license from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr Smith has practiced optometry continuously since 1967. The past nineteen years here in Cedar Park Texas.
Hobbies include photography, fishing, walking, computer technology, my dog Ralph and cat Daisy.
Dr Smith attends New Hope Baptist Church.
